We combine design and curatorial practice to translate ideas and contexts into spatial narratives. Influenced equally by content and site-specific conditions, our designs navigate between the poetic and the pragmatic. From conception to on-site realisation, we accompany each project in close collaboration with our clients.
Marlene Oeken and Martha Schwindling have been working in dialogue and on joint projects since 2014, as of 2024 as Oeken Schwindling in Berlin. Recent work includes commissions for Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Kunsthalle Wien, Kunstverein München, Munich Documentation Center for the History of National Socialism, HMKV Dortmund, Ifa Berlin/Stuttgart, and Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, among others.
